DÉBUT DE TOURNAGE POUR COLONIA, LE NOUVEAU FILM DU RÉALISATEUR OSCARISÉ, FLORIAN GALLENBERGER, AVEC, ENTRE AUTRES, EMMA WATSON ET DANIEL BRÜHL

Kehlen, Luxembourg, le 29 septembre 2014 – Iris Productions a le plaisir d’annoncer le démarrage du tournage du thriller Colonia du réalisateur oscarisé, Florian Gallenberger (John Rabe). La distribution du film comprend Emma Watson (Harry Potter, Noah, The Bling Ring) dans son premier rôle principal depuis Harry Potter, et Daniel Brühl, nominé aux Golden Globes (Rush). Le film est en tournage au Luxembourg, à Munich, Berlin et en Amérique du Sud jusqu’à la fin de l’année.

Colonia raconte l’histoire de Lena et Daniel, un jeune couple, qui se retrouve entraîné dans le coup d’Etat militaire chilien en 1973. Daniel est enlevé par la police secrète de Pinochet et Lena découvre qu’il est retenu prisonnier dans une zone bouclée, située dans le Sud, appelée Colonia Dignidad. Soit-disant une mission de bienfaisance dirigée par le prédicateur Paul Schäfer, mais en fait un endroit d’où personne ne s’échappe. Lena décide de rejoindre cet enfer sur Terre afin de retrouver Daniel.

Florian Gallenberger réalise Colonia d’après un script qu’il a écrit avec Torsten Wenzel, inspiré de faits réels. Benjamin Herrmann produit le film sous la bannière de Majestic (Desert Flower, John Rabe, Tour de Force). Nicolas Steil le produit à travers Iris Productions (Baby(a)lone, Sunset Song, Disparue en Hiver).

L’équipe du film comprend, entre autres, le directeur de la photographie, Kolja Brandt (Hector and The Search For Happiness, North Face), le chef décorateur Bernd Lepel (Downfall, The Baader Neinhof Complex), la créatrice costumes Nicole Fischnaller (A Most Wanted Man, The Counterfeiters), les chefs maquillage Waldemar Pokromski (The White Ribbon, The Pianist) et Claudine Moureaud (Merchant of Venice), l’ingénieur du son Carlo Thoss (The Girl with the Pearl Earring) et le monteur Hansjörg Weissbrich (Night Train To Lisbon).

PRODUCTION BEGINS ON ACADEMY AWARD®-WINNING FILMMAKER FLORIAN GALLENBERGER’S “COLONIA“, STARRING EMMA WATSON AND DANIEL BRÜHL

KEHLEN, LUXEMBOURG (September 29, 2014) – Majestic & Iris announced today that principal photography has commenced on the thriller “COLONIA,” from Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Florian Gallenberger (“JOHN RABE”). The film stars Emma Watson (“HARRY POTTER,” “NOAH,” „THE BLING RING“) in her first lead role since Harry Potter and Golden Globe nominee Daniel Brühl (“RUSH“). The film is shooting in Luxembourg, Munich, Berlin and South America, until the end of the year.

“COLONIA” tells the story of Lena and Daniel, a young couple, who gets entangled in the Chilean military coup in 1973. Daniel is abducted by Pinochet’s secret police and Lena tracks him to a sealed off area down South, called Colonia Dignidad. The Colonia presents itself as a charitable mission run by lay preacher Paul Schäfer but, in fact, is a place nobody ever escaped from. Lena decides to join the infamous cult in order to find Daniel.

Gallenberger is directing “COLONIA” from a script he and Torsten Wenzel wrote, inspired by true events. Benjamin Herrmann is producing the feature through his Majestic banner (« DESERT FLOWER, » “JOHN RABE,” « TOUR DE FORCE »). Nicolas Steil will produce it through Iris Productions (« BABY(A)LONE », « DISPARUE EN HIVER », « SUNSET SONG »).
