WINTER OF THE CROW – CURRENTLY IN POSTPRODUCTION

After shooting in the UK, Luxembourg and Poland, Kasia Adamik’s thriller is currently in post-production.

Warsaw, December 13th, 1981: Overnight, martial law is declared and a whole country turns into a prison. Taxis are replaced by tanks. Citizens are treated like criminals. Having just arrived the previous night, British professor Joan Andrews suddenly finds herself trapped in a satellite town, like a rat in a maze. When she witnesses the murder of a student by the secret police, Joan becomes a target herself!

Isolated from the outside world, she must rely on intuition, survival instinct, and imagination. She will outsmart a totalitarian regime and its communication ban by supporting a young resistance member and smuggling incriminating photographs out of Poland.

Inspired by the short story “Professor Andrews goes to Warsaw” by Olga Tokarczuk, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature and the Man Booker International Prize, WINTER OF THE CROW is a captivating Cold War thriller directed by Kasia Adamik (winner of the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival in 2017 for SPOOR). A Filmprodukcja (Poland), Iris Productions (Luxembourg) and Film and Music Entertainment(UK/Ireland) co-production. From executive producer Agnieszka Holland.

Recently seen as Princess Margaret in THE CROWN, the Academy Award Nominee Lesley Manville plays an impressive Joan Andrews, alongside actress and singer Sascha Ley (SHADOW OF THE VAMPIRE), Zofia Wichlacz (WARSAW 44), Andrzej Konopka (25 YEARS OF INNOCENCE), Denis Jousselin (TWO OF US) and the British star of the spin-off FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA, Tom Burke.
